Politics Place
A hybrid support group for election anxiety starts October 5th!
Politics Place
-
Is your anxiety building with the state election? Of course it is. Minnesota has had reoccurring political trauma.
You don’t have to go through this feeling alone and hopeless. We will focus on small ways to connect to resilience and hope each week.
-
A support group exists to reduce isolation and loneliness. By joining this group, you are already being brave and you will meet others who can help.
Community support is crucial right now.
-
Pleasure is your power. This can be through nature, food, laughter, and your body.
Each week will be another creative way to explore how you can access pleasure and what pleasure helps you stay connected to yourself.
Pleasure helps us increase our resilience, our stress tolerance, and makes life a lot more fun.
The Structure
4 Virtual sessions meeting October 5th and19th, November 2nd and 16th
3 Weeks of Connection + Integrative Practices
Politics Place is meant to help you connect with yourself and others while navigating your feelings about the election.
Plan to name your feeling, explore your nervous system state, connect to yourself, connect to others, and then incorporate pleasure. These aren’t tasks or things to do. These are intentions and dedicating an hour to help support you for 7 weeks.
While we can’t predict the outcome of the election, we can predict how you care for yourself.
You don’t have to struggle alone. Join us.
P.S: In case it isn’t obvious: Embodied Counseling holds progressive, humanitarian values. These will be reflected in Politics Place.
We stand in solidarity with our marginalized community members, especially our immigrant and LGBTQ+IA neighbors.
Anyone who engages in malicious or derogatory conduct will be immediately removed and will not be refunded.
